Jason Hayburn

Jason is one of the founding members of Shelter Design Studio. He received his Bachelor of Science in Design from the College of Architecture at Clemson University in South Carolina. Jason has been preparing construction documents and managing design and construction projects in architectural offices in Atlanta and metro Detroit since 1994. He has been involved in a variety of developments ranging in project type from single family and multi-family housing to large and small-scale retail to educational and commercial structures. He has extensive experience coordinating drawings to meet the requirements of various consultants and municipalities as well as procuring building permits from state, county, and city agencies.

Rounding-out his technical proficiency, Jason has capably designed numerous buildings that span the distance between a quaint child's tree house to residential additions and homes of new construction through to large multi-family and mixed use facilities upwards of 100,000 square feet.

In 2008, Jason was accepted into the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD). The AIBD is a national group of professional building designers committed to developing new improved design educational standards, encouraging inter-professional relations in the building industry, and promoting research in the aesthetic and technical aspects of the building design profession. Along with his business partner, Steve, Jason will be pursuing LEED accreditation in 2009.
